A company’s social media presence can make a big difference in a time where everything is becoming technologically driven. These overwhelming social media exercises might come across as annoying but you have no idea how much of a difference they can bring to your company’s impression in the minds of the audience. Therefore, it is important for you – as a business owner – to come up with the right strategies that can successfully be implemented on your social media platform.

Following given are a list of do’s and don’ts that you can follow on social media:

Do’s:

i)                    Understand your customers

Your social media must not be designed as per your preference, but the choices of your audience or followers. For this purpose, it is crucial that you understand your customers. Each and every aspect of your social media presence must be carefully tailored as per what your customers demand. Keeping in mind their personal interests, provide stories, posts, pictures and other such related content on your social media platform. Make them know that you care about what they feel.

ii)                  Be consistently active

You don’t necessarily spam your customer’s feed with your posts. While, you have to be active on social media for this purpose, make sure that you don’t overdo it. Providing too much information can essentially lead your followers to stop following your page all together. At the same time, your posts would end up getting lost in the bunch of other posts made on your follower’s feed.

iii)                Track the time

Understand what time your customer’s are most active on social media and attack them with your proposals at exactly that time. You can discover this through a bunch of experiments you can conduct. Time truly matters and thus, you must keep a track of time.

Don’ts:

i)                    Avoid liking your own posts

No matter how proud you are of your creation, it makes no sense if you like the post, yourself. Your followers should like and share your post. Moreover, it will end up putting a bad impression of you, as a brand, in the minds of your followers. However, you can hire experts who play the role of promoting your brands.

ii)                  Don’t share too much

Understand what is important for your customers to know. At the same time, take a note of the details that your customers don’t need to know. Sharing too much information can backfire. It could potentially destroy the whole product.

iii)                Don’t connect with everyone

Just because someone is following you, which does not mean that you must follow them back. Choose who you decide to surround yourself with, carefully. Before you follow back, think of how it will reflect on you.
